Mark Pemberton MBE
Mark Pemberton is an experienced consultant in the music industry and the performing arts. He has curated two editions of Audio Classique, the international gathering of the classical recording industry, and Orchestras Now!, the first ever international orchestras conference in Wroclaw, Poland. Mark has been a speaker and panel chair at conferences in the USA, Brazil, China, Japan and across Europe. During his 15 years as Chief Executive of the Association of British Orchestras, his achievements included launching the All Party Parliamentary Group on Classical Music and securing a waiver from visa fees for Ukrainian orchestras touring to the UK
Dr Amanda Owen
Psychiatrist, active in medical organisations and an avid Opera /Theatregoer. Editor of Medical Woman for 6 years, and former Medical Women’s International Association UK Coordinator. Currently, the Medical Women’s Federation Observer on the BMA Consultants Committee.
A cellist, Dr Owen loves Allcomers Music group,- Baroque Strings, and Strings courses at St Hilda’sOxford and Kythera Greece, which celebrates a 20-year anniversary this summer. A member of The London Contemporary Composers Orchestra, Owen is now also happily installed in the exemplary London Euphonia Orchestra.
Professor Richard Underwood
Richard Underwood BM BCh MA DM FRCP FRCR FESC FACC FASNC is Emeritus Professor of Cardiac Imaging at Imperial College London. A native Yorkshireman, he was educated in Edinburgh and Oxford before moving to London for higher medical training and research. In the course of a career as a cardiologist and nuclear physician at the Royal Brompton & Harefield hospitals he either led or was part of the development of new techniques in cardiac imaging, including magnetic resonance and radionuclide imaging. He played founding roles in relevant national and international groups and societies and he has published over 300 original papers with particular interests in coronary disease, heart failure and health economics. He remains in demand as an enthusiastic and respected educator and, now in semi-retirement, he continues to serve patients in both the NHS and private sectors.
